DO Winterfire: music in the other spaces [Mar. 6th, 2010|10:22 pm]

I didn't get time to do anything new for the other spaces. I mostly reran mixes from other DO and LR events and even a few of my http://www.radiogolgotha.com radio shows. The three shows that were playing were: "1st class ticket to hell" "Anathema and Apostasy" "Tales of Sex and Violence" They are often on rerun at the station so check in and see when they are scheduled. Other spaces were on the "Lounge" mix and "Orgy" mixes from LR as well as the "Pounding Sex Mix" and "Evil Fxxking Mix" from DOSC09

Thats it for the sets from DOWF10. I won't be at LR10 this year due to prior commitments but I will be back for DOSC10 and hopefully the Floating World.

DO Winterfire: Sun night main space music 2/28/10 [Mar. 6th, 2010|10:14 pm]

Sunday night music started after British Lucky Paul's show and people were pretty mellow. I kept the tempo down for most of the night and we even did a session of "Dancin' in the Dungeon" with a blues dance. I always look forward to playing the sexy tunes for people that can really dance!

After the concert and dinner we needed to change the space over so the conversion team requested metal and classic rock :) I was in the booth for another 4.5 hours and this time we cranked it up to get some dancing going. There were quite a few people spinning LED poi.

On Saturday I ran sound for the fabulous Wet Spots after a really nice dinner banquet; I actually got a chance to eat this time as I got my own waiter ;) To keep it light and backgroundy I dropped a lot of remixed jazz and other cocktail music. The Verve Remix CDs and the Hotel Costes series are a great place to do dinners from.

DO Winterfire: Friday night main space 2/26/10 [Mar. 3rd, 2010|11:01 pm]

I really love spinning for DO-WF, the main space is over 10,000 sqft and Friday I setup in the middle so I could keep an eye on everything! I was there all day on Thursday building the space with the help of the Hyatt AV staff since they were doing all of the truss structures and the awesome lighting. I was in the booth spinning live for the entire night (8 hours) and it was totally worth it.

Book and CD Swap 3/7/2010 [Feb. 7th, 2010|09:45 pm]

[info]lady_anemone and I, with generous help from [info]findingthegirl, are hosting a book and CD swap in Somerville, from 1 to 4 PM, on Sunday March 7th.
(That's one month from today, so you have a little time to get organized.)

It is open to the public, not only to people we know. There is no cost to enter, we only ask that you bring at least one bag of books, CDs, or books AND CDs. You can take away as many as you like and there are always plenty to go around! Leftovers will be donated to charity.

We will provide tea. Please don't bring food - we don't want any to get on the books!

WinterSolstice2010 Sunday Night Party setlist [Jan. 6th, 2010|09:47 pm]

Sunday night was the last night of the event and people were obviously tired but still in the mood for music! This set was pretty downtempo and really nice. Even though some of the tracks were a lot faster I slowed them down quite a lot. The tribal stuff really changes when dropped from 130 to 80 BPM and there is plenty of space to remove so it didn't sound weird like some tracks do when really slowed down. I broke my normal rule of not playing Enigma at a play event *g* at least those two tracks were not Sadness :)

WinterSolstice2010 Saturday Night Party setlist [Jan. 6th, 2010|08:51 pm]

This night I decided to keep it more down tempo for the first part and it really worked for the space. Friday night was really hoppin but by Sat things where settling down to a nice groove. I really like spinning for 6-7 hours at a time since I can really get into the space and there is a challenge in being able to come up with enough tracks without repeating now multiply by 4 nights in a row for a total of over 20 hours in the booth :)

Peter Lee and I covered 10 hours this past Saturday at the store. Salem on Halloween was crazy! Since we had a lot of time to spin we had a lot of genre arcs. Peter even went to the 80's and I dropped Gabba :)

I can't wait to do another day at the Fool's Mansion. We are talking about doing something regular there.

I couldn't get the simulcast working. There was some server issues; I think that there was some IP blocking going on and I couldn't get into the server to add our new IP. Oh well, maybe next time :)

Well the simulcast didn't work, having issues connecting to the server with all of the crap in between. Still need to figure out what was blocking us. Managed to get the FM router firewall open for us but we were denied at the main shoutcast server.

In the mean time the place is a hoppin. Tons of people coming though and Peter Lee and I are cranking through the tunes. No genre is off limits!

Still plenty of time to come down and say hi and get a new outfit. Store closes at 8pm.

Starting at 10am and going to close I'm running sound and DJing with Peter Lee all day at the Fools Mansion, 127 Essex Street Salem MA. Come on out and pick up some really great merch and listen to some really great music at the same time.

I'm bringing out the real equipment and if all goes well I'm also going to be simulcasting to http://www.radiogolgotha.com I have been remaking the site since the old second in command tried to take things over and ultimately got everything deleted by the old ISP *bad DJ no cookie*. I'm now in charge of all of the tech as well as a resident DJ so expect to see more posts from me in the future about shows.

Click on the player icons in the upper left corner of the site to listen in (Itunes people should use the winamp icon since the apple one is getting hooked by quicktime and not itunes) I should have the cast up and running by noon.

Darq Gala Recap, Black Tape for a Blue Girl, and Fools Mansion 10-31 [Oct. 26th, 2009|02:43 pm]

Holy crap did Angels on Acid and Ground To Dust destroy the house at the Darq Gala! It was one of the best concerts I have ever been apart of and the best part was the entire house was full of people dancing! I'm so glad that I took the time this last year to totally upgrade all of my sound equipment and get some more lights. It looked really great and sounded even better. Matt had a pro photographer there so I'll be reposting pics soon. I'm back running sound for Voltaire on Dec 12!

My next gig is running sound and DJing all day (Sat 10-31) with Peter Lee at the Fools Mansion, 127 Essex St Salem MA. I get there at 10am and leave when they close. Peter and I will be switching off ever hour or so and brining you a wide variety of music for your shopping enjoyment.

Lastly I am up for Gothic Maine at Plague (Asylum, 121 Center St Portland ME) running sound for Black Tape For A Blue Girl Friday Nov 6th.

This is the last of the iPod sets from camp. A lot of these are from Tantra Lounge, a really great series of 4, lots of Middle Eastern and Indian electronic fusion stuff. I also added a lot of really great selections from my collection as well.
